Imagino que todos os utilizadores de Mac estejam ansiosos por instalar o novo Mac OS X Leopard, eu pelo menos estou. Embora não pretenda adquirir logo de inicio, prefiro deixar a poeira assentar, ouvir algumas opiniões e esperar por actualizações.

Sou relativamente novo no mundo Mac e desconheço a qualidade dos lançamentos.

Seguindo para o que interessa, a Apple colocou uma visita guiada ao Leopard, apresentando algumas das novas funcionalidades.

Still taking on latest turorials, today we will be looking at installing PostgreSQL Server using MacPorts.

This is a little tutorial on customizing the previous MySQL install found here.

I prefer to have my DB living inside /Users directory, instead of /var or /opt. That's what we are going to achive. The goal is to make MySQL DBs drop here /Users/DB/mysql.

Since we installed MacPorts, let's put it to good use and install Apache2 and PHP5 to replace versions bundled with OS X.

To make PHP database aware and more useful, we will be installing Mysql, PostgreSQL, SQLite and PEAR as extensions, along with many others built by default by MacPorts.
